At sea
Our ship is the M/V ResQ People: it is 39 meters long and weighs 300 tons; born as a scientific research vessel, it has already sailed the Mediterranean to save lives under the name of Alan Kurdi.
Our ship has German flag and a crew of 21 people, including maritime professionals and specialized volunteers such as doctors and nurses, rescuers, cultural mediators, a logistician and a cook.
The ResQ People is equipped with two RHIBs, fast rigid-hull inflatable boats to approach the people in distress, a clinic to provide assistance to the survivors, and all the necessary equipment to safely operate the rescue.
